Father, Jim Sandlak, played 11 NHL seasons with Vancouver and Hartford, scoring 229 points and amassing 821 penalty minutes in 549 total games ... Sandlak's favorite team growing up was the Boston Bruins and his favorite player was Joe Thornton ... His favorite movie is Ladder 49 and his favorite team outside of hockey is the Toronto Blue Jays ... He lists golfing as his biggest talent outside of hockey and his hobby away from the rink is fishing ... Over the summer Sandlak spent a lot of time at his cottage in Sauble Beach.
