CHARLOTTE, NC – Charlotte Checkers general manager and head coach Jeff Daniels announced today the team has signed rookie forward Sean Dolan to a professional tryout agreement.
It is the first American Hockey League call-up for Dolan, 23, who is tied for the South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL) team lead in scoring with 20 points (7g, 13a) in 32 games.
Dolan, a native of St. Louis, MO., played four seasons at the University of Wisconsin, where he compiled 18 goals and 24 assists (42 points) in 163 games, while helping the Badgers to the NCAA Frozen Four in 2010.
The Checkers are in Milwaukee and Chicago this weekend before returning Wednesday and Thursday to host the Hershey Bears in a rematch of last season’s East Division Semifinal. Tickets are available at the Time Warner Cable Arena box office and www.ticketmaster.com.
