NIGHTINGALE, BERUBE RECALLED BY HARTFORD

CHARLOTTE, NC—Charlotte Checkers general manager and head coach Derek Wilkinson announced today that team captain Jared Nightingale and rookie defenseman Mike Berube have been recalled by the American Hockey League’s Hartford Wolf Pack.

Nightingale has appeared in all 16 Checkers’ games to date this season and has one goal, five assists and 52 penalty minutes. The 27-year-old Michigan native played 49 games with Hartford last season where he collected two goals, five assists and 121 minutes in penalties.

Berube, a 21-year-old rookie out of Edmonton, Alberta, has also skated in all 16 Checkers’ games this season. He notched two goals, two assists and added 23 penalty minutes. He is currently tied for the team-lead in the plus-minus category with a +11 rating.

Both players are under contract with Hartford and were assigned to the Checkers to begin the season.
