CHARLOTTE, NC – After a month-long moustache-growing and fundraising initiative, the Charlotte Checkers have announced that players, staff and fans have raised $5,000 for the Movember Foundation.
The players were split into two teams, led by Checkers Movember team captains Chris Durno and Chris Terry, and Team Durno was victorious with $2,830 raised over 30 days. Picture and video updates on the teams’ progress and donation totals
were posted throughout the month and players encouraged fans to donate
via their personal Twitter accounts.
Movember is a worldwide movement, which raises vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.
