CHARLOTTE, NC – Charlotte Checkers head coach and general manager Jeff Daniels announced today the team has recalled defenseman Chris Murray from its ECHL affiliate, the Florida Everblades, and has released rookie forward Scott Pitt from his professional tryout agreement.
Murray, 27, currently leads all ECHL defensemen in scoring with 11 points in 14 games and his three goals, eight assists, 11 points and 33 penalty minutes lead all Florida blueliners.
The Dover, MA, native has recorded three goals, 14 assists and 183 penalty minutes in 100 career AHL games.

Pitt, 23, skated in six games with the Checkers and recorded two penalty minutes. He will return to Florida, where he played his first five games of the season.
