Opening weekend for the Checkers’ 2011-12 season is Saturday, Oct. 15 (7 p.m.) and Sunday, Oct. 16 (3 p.m.) at Time Warner Cable Arena as the Peoria Rivermen come to town for a two-game set.

Saturday

• The first 3,500 fans in attendance will receive a 3’ x 5’ Checkers house flag, courtesy of Time Warner Cable. The first 7,000 will receive a free magnet schedule, courtesy of Presbyterian Hospital.

• Special Opening Night video and introduction

• TV Game – Saturday’s game will be broadcast live on Time Warner Cable Special Events channel 520 throughout the Carolinas.

Sunday

• Get a Coke Family 4-Pack – 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 Cokes and a two-liter Coke coupon – for just $60, plus fees.

• Skate with the Team, presented by Extreme Ice Center. Bring your skates, or a limited number of pairs will be available to rent, and skate with your Checkers!
