The Checkers announced today the details of their annual Select-A-Seat event, which will take place Saturday, Sept. 17 from 12-4 p.m. at Time Warner Cable Arena.

Fans are encouraged to stop by and choose their seats for the 2011-12 season and tour the facility with a personal Checkers representative. Also in attendance will be the newly formed 2011-12 CheckMates team.

Full season, 21-game and 10-game plans will be on sale and begin as low as $110. In addition, the event will be the final chance to get a Carolina Hockey Six Pack, which includes the Hurricanes/Jets NHL preseason game, presented by Husqvarna, Checkers opening night and four other games of choice for just $100.

There will be an unveiling of a new line of merchandise, available for purchase, which includes t-shirts, hats and novelty items, as well as a vintage memorabilia sale, including jerseys, pucks, photos and other miscellaneous items from past eras of Checkers hockey. Proceeds from the vintage sale will benefit the Charlotte Checkers Charitable Foundation.

The Checkers’ home opener is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 15 at Time Warner Cable Arena against the Peoria Rivermen. Season tickets and mini-plans are on sale now and start as low as $10 per game. Ticket information can be obtained by calling 704-342-4423 or visiting www.gocheckers.com.

The Carolina Hurricanes and Winnipeg Jets will face-off in an NHL preseason game at Time Warner Cable Arena on Sunday, Sept. 25. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com or the TWCA box office.
