For the third consecutive year, the Charlotte Checkers, along with Sutter Home Family Vineyards and Empire Distributors, Inc., have helped construct a Habitat For Humanity home for a deserving Charlotte family.

On Friday, June 18, members of the Checkers front office staff spent the day painting, preparing the house for its dedication, which will take place on Wednesday, June 30 at 227 Jones Street in Charlotte.

Habitat for Humanity International was founded in 1976. Since that time, Habitat affiliates have built or rehabbed over 250,000 houses, serving over one million people worldwide.

Habitat Charlotte began in 1983 and enables working-class families to help themselves become homeowners. To date, over 900 Charlotte families have been able to realize their dream of homeownership.

Season tickets for the Checkers’ inaugural 2010-11 AHL season are now on sale and 40-game packages start as low as $200. Ticket information can be obtained by calling 704-342-4-ICE or visiting www.gocheckers.com/AHL.
