More than 400 participants braved the cold weather Saturday at the inaugural Checkers 5K Run & Walk, benefiting the Charlotte Checkers Charitable Foundation. The runners and walkers of all ages then took part in a post-race party, presented by Bud Light, at the EpiCentre and received a ticket to that night’s game vs. the Oklahoma City Barons.
Congratulations to Chad and Danielle Crockford, who won the male and female overall categories, respectively. Awards were handed out for top three finishers in all age groups and for best dressed.
