Checkers Players Participating in Movember

Several Charlotte Checkers players and staff members are growing mustaches this month in an effort to raise funds and awareness for Movember, the world-wide men's health foundation. Several Charlotte Checkers players and staff members are growing mustaches this month in an effort to raise funds and awareness for Movember, the world-wide men's health foundation.

The players are split into two teams as chosen by Checkers Movember team captains Kyle Hagel and Brendan Woods, who chose their teams at a live draft at Tin Roof in the EpiCentre. The teams will compete against each other to see which squad can raise the most money through online donations to their respective pages.

Picture and video updates on the teams' progress and donation totals will be posted at gocheckers.com/movember throughout the month. Movember will culminate at a special event at the Tin Roof following the Checkers' last game of the month on Nov. 30.
