The Charlotte Checkers and Chiquita Brands announced today they have partnered on a joint volunteer program, which will serve dozens of non-profit organizations and schools in the Charlotte community through the end of the summer.

Event Schedule
The I.C.E. (inspiring community enrichment) program will begin June 1, with a goal of 2,000 hours of service to organizations such as Special Olympics of North Carolina, Habitat for Humanity, the YMCA of Greater Charlotte and Second Harvest Food Bank, among many others.

“We are very excited to partner with Chiquita, a like-minded organization that is committed to community service,” said Checkers community ambassador Elle Bunn. “We hope to help as many people and organizations as possible throughout the summer and continue to make a positive impact in Charlotte.”

The first volunteer occurrence will take place Monday, June 3 at Goodwill headquarters followed by a cleaning session at the Carolina Raptor Center on Wednesday, June 5. An ongoing schedule can be found here.

Video and picture updates will be posted on the Checkers’ website and social media channels throughout the program and Checkers fans are encouraged to sign up to help volunteer. Those who wish to become involved can email [email protected].
