Race to the Taste 5K to Take Place June 7

Race to the Taste 5K
The first-ever Race to the Taste 5K, part of the annual Taste of Charlotte event uptown, is set for Saturday, June 7. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Charlotte Checkers Charitable Foundation.

Online registration is now open for the event, which begins at 9 a.m. Those who participate in the 5K will receive a free t-shirt, a goodie bag, a Taste of Charlotte Super Coin to purchase any item at the festival, which takes place from June 6-8, and other great gifts.

Registration is also open for the Cupcake Run/Walk that morning at 9:45, with participants receiving a shirt and multiple cupcakes throughout the course. An awards ceremony featuring awards live music is set for 10 a.m.

Several volunteer positions are also needed for various duties surrounding the event. Information on registering as a volunteer is available here.

The Charlotte Checkers Charitable Foundation is a 501C3 that creates initiatives, fundraising programs and partnerships that positively impact the lives of children, families and other deserving groups in the North and South Carolina Region. The Checkers contributed more than $440,000 in monetary and in-kind donations to the Charlotte community during the 2013-14 season and more than $3 million since 2006.
