With their season completed, the Carolina Hurricanes have assigned Sergey Tolchinsky to Charlotte.

The second-year pro rejoins the Checkers after appearing in two games with Carolina during his first NHL stint this season. Tolchinsky picked up one assist in what were his third and fourth career NHL games.

The Russian forward now returns to Charlotte, where he has notched 22 points (7g ,15a) in 57 games for the Checkers.

Per AHL rules, Tolchinsky was the lone player on the current Carolina roster eligible to rejoin the Checkers at this point in the season.

Additionally, the Checkers have released Hudson Elynuik from his amateur tryout. The Carolina draft pick did not appear in any games during his stay with Charlotte.
