Charlotte Checkers Draught for the Draft Party at Queen City Q
The Checkers are holding their fifth annual "Draught for the Draft" party at Queen City Q in uptown Charlotte on Friday, June 27, starting at 6 p.m.

While watching the parent Carolina Hurricanes’ activity in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft live from Philadelphia, fans can enjoy raffle prizes and games, highlighted by the opportunity to win season tickets for life if they correctly guess picks from the entire round. Those who correctly guess which player the Hurricanes will select with their pick, currently slotted at seventh overall, will win a $7 gift card to Queen City Q.

Prizes will also be available through three rounds of hockey trivia. The event will feature appearances by Chubby and the CheckMates and $3 specials on most locally-brewed beer.

Since the Checkers and Hurricanes became affiliates in 2010, two of the Hurricanes’ three first-round picks have gone on to play for Charlotte. A total of 18 former Carolina draft picks played for Charlotte during the 2013-14 season.
